The laconic private investigator Mike Faraday is called in to investigate death-threats to film star Mina Strauss. It is early December and Mike finds a murderous Father Christmas figure involved. Aided by his blonde secretary, Stella, Mike is soon involved in murder and mayhem as he follows a tangled trail which leads from Mina Strauss' plush estate to a shoot-out in a seedy L.A. suburb.
