Veronyca Bates grew up in Dorridge in the West Midlands and subsequently lived in England, Scotland and Wales and Spain. She currently lives in Swansea with her two dogs, where she is a County Councillor. She took early retirement from Swansea University in order to find the time to write and has plans for several more Inspector Cobb novels.
