Lagg Durant is a peaceable rancher with no real enemies. But after killing vicious Guns Quinton in self-defense, he's forced to ee across the snow-covered San Juan Mountains or face Quinton's vengeful family - and more killing. Then when he meets up with a young woman and two children, who have been deserted by a ruthless guide on the dangerous mountains, he must make a tough choice.For the Quintons are catching up to Lagg.
