Michelle Beattie began her writing with poetry, and wrote several which included 'in memoriams' for her brother who died when she was 14. It wasn't until after high school that she began reading romances and found she loved westerns. Then the bug to write bit her and she's never looked back.

It took three completed manuscripts, two contest wins and several placings with her work until she got 'The Call' from New York. A day that will forever be etched in her mind.
