Leslee Breene entertains a passion for writing stories from the heart. For the past seven years, her focus has centered on historical romance. In her continuing fascination with Western history, she sets out to create flesh and blood women and men of the early West in moments of adventure and courage.

In FOXFIRE, Ms. Breene's first published novel-length fiction, her heroine Megan Killeen was a delight to embody. The challenge was not to get carried away with Megan's Irish brogue. She admits giving in to the idea of being carried away by hero, James Ryder.

The 1992 National Writers Association featured one of her short stories in its anthology, OF HOBOS AND RAINBOWS. Snow Angels of San Marcial won First Place in the 1998 BYLINE Magazine's Christmas short fiction contest.

She attended The University of Denver on a Methodist Church Scholarship and, after being awarded a Denver Fashion Group Scholarship, graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York City. For several years, she worked as a fashion illustrator in San Francisco before returning to Denver.

During leisure time away from her computer, she enjoys scouting for book settings with her husband in the Colorado Rockies. Some memorable sites are Leadville, Georgetown, Silverton, and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Country western dancing is a favorite pastime, as well as walking her energetic miniature poodle, "Danny."
