Chaos has broken out at Brentwood High. Police vehicles with flashing lights and screaming sirens are cluttering the parking lot, and an ambulance has taken center stage. Suddenly the class clown, Izzy Mooney, bursts into the broadcast news room, spilling out a tale of threats, panic, and bloodshed.

One student is dead; one is charged with murder; both claim allegiance to a gang. Stunned by the sudden increase of violence in their school, Darby, Jake, Izzy, and the rest of the broadcast news team take on the imposing task of addressing an issue with no clear answers.
