When Mike Langton and his friends decide to settle and farm in Montana, they find tolerance and understanding from Zeke Hedley, but conflict from other cattlemen determined to keep an open range. Attempts to run the nesters out of the territory, to throw Hedley against Langton, result in beatings, arson, rustling and attempted rape, as rough justice is meted out.
