Gary Birken, M.D. is a practicing pediatric surgeon in Florida. He is the author of successful medical thriller.

For the past 18-years he has been on staff at the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital where he is presently the Surgeon-in-Chief and the Director of Medical Affairs. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Memorial Healthcare System Foundation

Dr. Birken has four children, plays basketball regularly and holds a black belt in martial arts.
