About Dionne Brand
Born in Guayaguayare, Trinidad and Tobago, in 1970 Brand immigrated to Canada after graduating from the Naparima Girl's High School in Trinidad. She studied at the University of Toronto, where she earned a B.A. in English and Philosophy, an M.A. in the Philosophy of Education, and worked on a Ph.D. in Women's History and Philosophy. Currently she teaches at the University of Guelph
