The wonders of classic science fiction radio are recreated here in 4 vivid scripts from prominent Australian writer Damien Broderick. Striped Holes: Hilarity ensues when a time traveler arrives with grim news in the luxury bachelor apartment of TV interviewer, Sopwith Hammil: the Sun is about to be turned off. Sopwith can be saved from Earth's big freeze only if he brings his lawfully wedded spouse. Will the charismatic nitwit find a mate in time? Time Zones: Jenny, teen genius, gets a message from a brilliant scientific inventor in a time zone separated from her own by decades. Can she and Rod solve the paradoxes of time and space before reality splinters? Schrodinger's Dog: The multiverse has many faces. Daniel Ng was a child refugee from the horrors of the Vietnam war. Now he's built a machine that flings him into many alternative worlds. But he has a disease that's fast killing him. The Game of Stars and Souls: In a galaxy far, far away from Earth, men and women struggle for power on an interstellar stage. A young man crushed by his ruthless father falls in love with a woman shaped as a weapon against them both. At stake is not just victory but the survival of the cosmos. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Damien Broderick was Theodore Sturgeon Award finalist in 2010 and 2011, and winner of the A. Bertram Chandler Award for Outstanding Achievement in Science Fiction, 2010.
