A distinctly odd and undeniably hilarious story from The Monthly Review, July 1905. 'The Questionable Parentage of Basil Grant', which seems to have its origin in Andrew Lang's series of stories of the Disentanglers, is likely the earliest piece of Sherlockiana to attempt to track Holmes's heritage. The whole parody is a literary joke, full of fun and a must for the Sherlockian bookshelf.
