Determined to regain the family estate his father was cheated out of, Lord Glenraven returns to Ravencroft disguised as a servant in search of the proof he needs to claim his inheritance. He is confronted, however, with an unexpected problem-the lovely Widow Carstairs, the current owner of the house. The solution, of course, is apparent to the reader; but, as is the case in most Regencies, it is the charmingly witty road to the happy ending that keeps readers entranced.
