New Zealand (1924 - 2004)

Janet Frame has won all the major New Zealand literary awards and in 1989 was awarded the Commonwealth Writers' Prize. Her three volumes of autobiography were the subject of an award-winning film, An Angel at My Table, directed by Jane Campion.
