This is the second book in A Dangerous Universe Series by Saxon Andrew that explores what it means to exist in a universe where life is precarious at best. A Warrior's Quest explores what it means to be Human. Daniel Kellog was abducted by aliens from a hospital nursery when he was an infant with the intent of genetically changing him into a powerful warrior to defend the aliens who abducted him. The Alien Leader succeeded beyond his wildest dreams and discovered that he had possibly created the most powerful being in the universe. Too late the alien realized he had taken a being from an extremely aggressive species who was now a danger to everyone he encountered and also to him and his ship. He banished Daniel from his ship to remove the threat leaving Daniel alone to wonder who he was and what he was. The only way for Daniel to find out was to find his species and he had no idea where Earth was located. He begins a quest to find Earth and the family he never knew.

Excerpt from A Warrior's Quest:

“I hope you understand that the threat you pose to the Arcon isn’t physical, Deek.”
“I know. I saw that when the barriers were down.”
“He can destroy us if he opens fire on us with all of his defenses.”
“Targeting us will pose a problem for him, Ked.”
“That may be true at a long distance but if we move in close enough to the ship, we will be in grave danger.” Ked was silent waiting for Deek to respond and when he didn’t, Ked asked. “What are you not telling me?”
“While the barriers were down, I made a few changes to us physically.”
“What sort of changes?”
“The changes the Arcon refused to make. He learned that a small change in my body would make me immune to his weapons. He knew I was close to being able to destroy him and his ship.”
There was a pause before Ked remarked, “But he could have refused to make those changes and it wouldn’t be an issue.”
Daniel smiled, “He learned that if I lowered the barriers in my mind, I could make changes to my body without him. That’s why he sent me away with those traps.”
“And may I ask if you made those changes while the barriers were down?”
“Of course I did, Ked.”

One moment Humans can love with a depth and intensity that is amazing and the next moment rip someone's throat out. This story is one that will make you consider why we're like that, where it comes from, and where it will take us. The action is intense and perhaps at the end, you'll see yourself and mankind in a new light.
