APRIL DAVIS is a woman who you've gotta love. She has such big, beautiful brown eyes that immediately tell you its okay to talk to her. Her smile is as humble as it is hearty--a combination that one could only be born with. A loving, compassionate soul, April always gives 110 percent. SISSY DICKERSON is April's best friend. She's pretty, with a tight G.I. Jane physique, and she's been a policewoman with the New York City Police Department for years. Sissy usually gets her way, whatever it takes, mainly because of her inner strength, her determination and undying passion. But Sissy also has some issues. Her Teflon-tough attitude makes it hard to be social. It's a barrier that's been nourished by all the tragedy in her life thus far. It's also made her this headstrong avenger. When she's on the beat, helping others, or fighting crime, she's also satisfying some of her own issues.

Finally, there's RIVER RENE BURLINGTON, the very bitter, very deceitful murderess. As much as she loves her men she's also killing them and getting away with it. But now that Sissy is so close to catching River, there are some surprises in store.
