Kate Atkinson recommends
Like (1997) Ali Smith "Not only was the novel beautifully written but it was fascinating reading." | In the Heart of the Garden (1998) Helene Wiggin "A born storyteller." | The Pursuit of Happiness (2001) Douglas Kennedy "A compulsive read." | |
The Ship of Fools (2002) Gregory Norminton "Clever and energetic and sly and funny and full of surprises." | After The Fire (2009) Karen Campbell "Anna is a great, original character and Karen Campbell has a great way with images. It seems to me that in crime writing these days (perhaps always) its really only the women writers who can do interesting characters AND interesting plot, but then we were multi-taskers ever." |
