With her business partner still at home recovering from a nasty bout of botulism, amateur sleuth and Dogwood Donut Shop owner, Maggie Sharpe has hired a new employee to help pick up the slack.
The new hire unfortunately seems to be a bit too big for his britches, however, and Maggie questions her wisdom in hiring him.
Things go from bad to way, way worse, however, when a private investigator who came to the shop looking for him is found dead.
The new employee is the main suspect in the case, and Maggie has to know whether or not he’s actually the culprit, so she investigates immediately.
What she finds is that the suspect pops up around every corner, always trying to convince Maggie of his innocence. Further complicating things is another source thrown into the mix, who is saying things that just don’t add up.
