Brooklyn Meeng'

(2009)
A novel by

Money, Tony Alisi knows, is the only cure for the Brooklyn meeng'. Tony's textile warehouse has been in the family for generations but he'll have to torch it for the insurance money. Tony has no other choice. The Mafia is into him for boo-coo bucks and if he doesn't pay off, he's history. The only other option Tony has is to stage a big-money heist planned by his crooked lawyer friend Arnie, but he turns down the deal.

Arnie's plan is too risky, and besides, Tony knows Arnie long enough and well enough not to trust him. Tony doesn't trust anyone to torch the business either. Wanting it done right, he does it himself, then sets up his alibi. Everything goes like clockwork until the insurance company refuses to pay off on Tony's policy, leaving him with no business and no money to pay off the loan sharks.

With no more cards to play at this point, Tony agrees to do the heist for Arnie. If nothing else, it will get him out of the country, and if Tony's real lucky and real smart, there's even an outside chance of him scoring the bucks he needs to get him straight with the mob and back on track with the life Tony led before the Brooklyn meeng' got a hold of him.
